Samsung is gearing up for the release of One UI 8.5, with a recent teaser highlighting refreshed apps. The teaser, in a short reel format, teases significant changes to four core apps: Messages, Game Booster, Camera, and Wallet. This release is part of Samsung's increased marketing efforts this year, focusing on key features and software enhancements. The teaser emphasizes the excitement surrounding the new One UI, which is already available in Beta but will be tailored for the Galaxy S26 series, launching alongside the next-gen Galaxy phones on February 25th. The stable deployment of One UI 8.5 is expected to start in April, beginning with the S25 lineup. Meanwhile, Samsung is also working on One UI 9, based on Android 17, for its upcoming Galaxy Z series, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The company has started software development and testing for this new Fold, with the first build spotted for the US version. One UI 9 will bring new features, performance improvements, and foldable-specific optimizations to these devices. Additionally, Samsung is preparing the One UI 8.5 Beta 5 update, which will be available before the stable release, focusing on further refining the user interface and stability. The Galaxy S25 series users participating in the Beta Program will receive this update, while other eligible models will get the stable version directly. Samsung's One UI 8.5 also introduces a new feature called Partial Screen Recording, allowing users to record specific parts of the screen automatically, making the process faster and easier.
